I’m a disaster scientist currently looking for work. My expertise in the narrow focus of the social science of disasters includes social factors in evacuation from building fires, FEMA’s response to COVID-19, emergency management education, and policy analysis in the infrastructure and mitigation space. On the more general level, my expertise is translating between disciplines, interdisciplinary and mixed methods research, and turning complex data into accessible Excel dashboards. Details about past research, including video presentations and a poster, can be found on the Research page. The Words page contains a brief overview of credits and scholarly publications as well as links to some of my writing, including PDFs of my thesis and dissertation. The Services page contains details about my freelance offerings right now.

The blog is updated rarely and on no fixed schedule. Primarily about tech and writing, it has expanded to include commentary on idyllic Wisconsin village, where I’m also re-learning how to garden on the wildly prolific pollinator-friendly perennials that keep popping up around my house. Social media links can be found at the bottom of the page.
